I. One of my icks is reading anything that was clearly only written because the author felt like they had to write, not because they actually felt the urgent need to share something.
Hi Jakob, I just wanted to say that I really like reading your blog-posts a lot. In fact I read them aloud to my wife and both of us find your ideas very validating, particularly so in a place where people tend to attack anything they perceive as different.
The only thing I have reservations about is your hope that AI will turn out to be of benefit. I feel that anything that eliminates the need for human contact will eventually do more harm than good.
Totally agree. As a researcher, I feel like we were producing better work when there wasn't this quote or obligation started by the German schools.
People used to go home and do "research" as a form of leisure. I think consumerist forms of "leisure" have kind of killed this. Unfortunately many people that could have fun amateur endeavors spend too much time on ticktok or whatever to do anything.
I think pros and amateurs alike will be displaced by deeper AIs of the future with the ability to synthesize ideas from their broad data base and deep simulated thinking. We, the human race, may be in danger of extermination, considered an existential threat to the earth and beyond!

Thanks, and more power to your pen!
